Bruce Museum Archive

Howes created untold numbers of paintings utilizing this paint case. While at the Bruce Museum alone, Howes painted backgrounds for over fifty dioramas ranging in scale from room-sized installations to the miniature box-sized examples seen in this cabinet. Though Howes was proficient in multiple media, he especially excelled in pen-and-ink illustrations and watercolor.
