Bioblitz at Greenwich Point Park
A BioBlitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many living species as possible within a designated area over a 24-hour time frame. Designed as part educational event and part scientific endeavor, the Connecticut BioBlitz brings together scientists, naturalists, and volunteers to conduct an intensive field study. The outreach component to a BioBlitz, has the goal of getting the public interested in plant and animal biodiversity. For scientists, the Bioblitz at Greenwich Point will beging on Friday, September 15, at 3:00 pm
For the public, the event begins Saturday, September 16, 2017
10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Greenwich Point, Old Greenwich, CT
This is event is free and open to the public. Featured activities range from nature walks with experts, demonstrations, activities and displays designed to give PreK-12 students and their families a chance to explore and experience the biodiversity of Greenwich Point and Long Island Sound. Educators, city and government departments, businesses, organizations, colleges and the students themselves run the activities.
