Fred Elser Sunday Science: Sex in the Sea now held at Bruce Museum
(RESCHEDULED FROM 2/12 at the SEASIDE CENTER)
NOW HELD AT BRUCE MUSEUM ON Saturday 2/18.
At 2:00 pm, scientist, researcher and storyteller Dr. Marah Hardt will entertain us with highlights from her popular science book Sex in the Sea exploring the staggering ways life begets life beneath the waves. Beyond a deliciously voyeuristic excursion, Sex in the Sea uniquely connects the timeless topic of sex with the timely issue of sustainable oceans. Through overfishing, climate change, and ocean pollution we are disrupting the creative procreation that drives the wild abundance of life in the ocean. With colorful underwater photography, wit and scientific rigor, Hardt will introduce us to the wet and wild sex lives of ocean life, and help us learn why understanding these behaviors matters for how we manage our oceans.
Marine Valentine-themed family activities all afternoon from 1:30 - 4:00 pm in the Education Workshop.
