The Bruce Museum is thrilled to be offering three painting workshops for seniors to complement the exhibition “On the Edge of the World: Masterworks by Laurits Andersen Ring from SMK—The National Gallery of Denmark, February 1, 2020 - May 24, 2020”. These workshops will be led by teaching artist Eddie Nino, who will lead students through explorations of Value, Color, and Composition. Nino will use Ring’s artwork as inspiration for three unique workshops.
Each of the workshops is a standalone class, focusing on one particular aspect of painting, students are encouraged to sign up for all three. Workshops are two hours long, run from 1:30-3:30 pm and start with a 30-minute gallery exploration led by Manager of School and Community Partnerships, Corinne Flax, followed by a 90-minute workshop intensive. The price for a single session workshop is $30 for non-members and $25 for members. These workshops are for adults 55 and older. All materials will be provided as well as coffee and light snacks.

Nino underwent a disciplined and rigorous 15-year training, apprenticing with noted art teacher Andrew Reiss in Brooklyn, NY; while enrolled as a full-time student at the Grand Central Academy, and the Art Student’s League. Nino’s many honors and accomplishments include private commissions, solo, and group shows, numerous awards from the tri-state area, and published artwork in the book: Classical Life Drawing Studio by Sterling Publishing Co., Inc. Nino continues the tradition of passing along artistic skill and knowledge to students of all ages at his private art school, The Eddie Nino Art School, in Norwalk CT, and now at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT.
