Saturday, May 2, 2015 — 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join Peter Linderoth of the Bruce Museum Science Department on a walk to identify trees, an appropriate adjunct to Greenwich Recycling Advisory Board's Paper Shredding Day (9:30 am - 12:30 am) today. Remember, trees are where the paper process starts -- among the many crucial ecosystem services they provide! Learn about the physical characteristics that environmental scientists observe during tree identification and about the basics of utilizing a dichotomous key. Following a brief discussion, participants will identify trees during a non-strenuous guided walk around the Museum grounds and Bruce Park. Before you know it, you will be identifying the trees in your yard with ease!
Program will start in the Bruce Museum front lobby at 11:00 am.
