Scholarship Opportunities

Scholarship Opportunities

The Bruce Museum offers two types of scholarship opportunities for groups that qualify and are interested in in-person, virtual, or in-classroom programs during regular hours, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Organizations that are awarded a scholarship will have their program fees and transportation fees (if needed) waived.

Which scholarship opportunity should I apply for?

Neighborhood Collaborative

Groups that qualify and are interested in participating in museum programs multiple times with the same group of students over the course of one school year should apply for the Neighborhood Collaborative program. During the 2020-21 academic year, the Neighborhood Collaborative Fund can be applied to virtual programs, museum-based programs, and in-classroom programs.

OR

Single Program Scholarships

Groups that qualify and are interested in a one-time museum visit, virtual program, or in-classroom program over the course of one school year should apply for a single program scholarship. Multiple groups from the same organization that are interested in the same program should apply together for this fund. During the 2020-21 academic year, single program scholarships can be applied to virtual programs, museum-based programs, and in-classroom programs.

Does my group qualify for a scholarship opportunity?

To qualify for a scholarship, groups must be eligible for Title 1 Assistance and/or have 25% or more students receiving free or reduced lunch.

Applicants who are chosen are strongly encouraged to write a thank you letter to GIVE: Steven and Alexandra Cohen Foundation.

How do I apply for a scholarship?

To request an application, for assistance in selecting programs, or to ask questions, please contact Kathleen Holko at kholko@brucemuseum.org. Programs should be planned as far in advance as possible as scholarships will be awarded to qualifying groups on a first-come, first-serve basis.
