Despite the chilly rain, nearly 500 people – including more than 300 children – turned out on April 22nd for the Bruce Museum 2012 Family Benefit.

Can You See What I See? Finding Family Fun at the Bruce Museum featured an afternoon of family-focused fun, including a tour of the Games, Gizmos and Toys in the Attic exhibition led by illustrator/photographer Walter Wick and a number of engaging exhibition-themed activities to delight children and adults alike. Plus, Broadway performers from the New Paradigm Theatre Company created a professional theater experience with live performances as well as acting, dancing and voice workshops for the children.

In addition to the fun, this event is an important fundraiser for the museum; and by that measure the Family Benefit was a success – raising more than $50,000 to fund scholarships and support educational initiatives in art and science.
