Community. Art. Science. Education. These four touchstones have guided the Bruce Museum for the last 100 years. These are the principles that have brought you—the Museum’s family—inspiration, knowledge, wonder, and joy. Some of you have grown up within the Bruce Museum family, coming first as a child, then later as a parent and grandparent. Others of you are new to our family. Welcome to you all!
The Bruce Museum’s family is diverse, but united by shared values. We are a community of the curious. We believe in the power of science. We see the life-changing impact of art. We know that openness, understanding and appreciation are keys to changing the world. We question, and we learn. Always.
These are extremely challenging times. Whether you’ve been a part of us for many years or you just joined, the Bruce Museum family is here for you now. Although we are forced to be apart, the Museum is committed to providing new ways to come together as one family, and in support of this great community. That’s why we’re working remotely to create new digital programs, online exhibitions, and activities for the local schools.
We have three overarching goals right now: to support our community, take care of our employees, and preserve the institution so it will be here tomorrow. To do that, we need the support of the community to help us get through.
We hope that you can afford a gift to the Bruce Museum to help us maintain operations in this time of crisis. But if you can’t right now—don’t worry. The Bruce Museum is still here for you, providing engaging, free content for all ages and all abilities, as we have for over a century. The Bruce Museum will continue to provide for you and all your loved ones the quality programming that you’ve come to love, appreciate, and expect from us.
Because that’s what you do for family.
Be safe. Stay healthy. Stand with the Bruce.
