This oversized scrapbook provides a unique and personal look into Howes’s life as a family man, adventurer, scientist, and museum curator. Photographs include views of his bedroom laboratory, time from his WWI military service, expeditions, and creation of dioramas. Howes must have produced thousands of photographs during his lifetime. The Bruce Museum houses over 1,000 printed photos and glass and film negatives, many with detailed notations of subjects, places, and technical information regarding his photographic processes.
