Docents

The Museum’s volunteer docent team

If you have ever enjoyed an Exhibitions Highlights Tour or Bruce Beginnings at the Bruce, you have an idea of what it means to be a Bruce Docent. Docents welcome and engage visitors of all ages through guided tours, school field trips, and special programs. This all-volunteer group has an array of professional backgrounds, and we value people who bring unique viewpoints. All docents participate in regular training sessions that cover a wide array of topics, from curator’s tours of new exhibitions to touring tips and techniques.

The program is currently open to applicants; a new group of docents will start in January 2025. We are specifically interested in candidates who are fluent in both English and Spanish and/or would like to lead science programs for Prek-12 groups.
