Bruce Experiences: Flowering Art: Floral Design inspired by Henry Bill Selden
Sunday, October 5, 2025, 2–5pm
Join Master Florest, Trish O’Sullivan, and The Bruce for the presentation of Flowering Art, featuring Henry Bill Selden’s painting Stony Brook from the museum’s Nature’s Impressions: The Modernist Landscape Collection. The early autumn theme for Stony Brook will be reconceived by Trish into Floral Art with the crafting of locally grown wildflowers and botanicals spilling from a stone container, capturing the essence of a woodland stream landscape.
Join a Bruce Museum docent lead, in-gallery discussion on Selden’s mastery of painting directly from nature, as a prelude to the reimaging of Stony Brook into Floral Art. Easy techniques for DIY Floral Art designing success will be demonstrated, along with a discussion of eco-friendly tips for keeping flowers looking fresh and long-lasting without chemicals or floral foam.
The Floral Art design will be raffled off at the end of the program.
Docent-led tour is from 2–2:45pm in the gallery followed by demonstration in the auditorium.
