Austin McChord is the founder and former CEO of Datto, an innovative provider of comprehensive backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions. Austin led Datto from its inception through its acquisition by Vista Equity Partners in 2017, and subsequent IPO in 2020.

A graduate, trustee, and 2017 commencement speaker of the Rochester Institute of Technology, McChord is the recipient of numerous awards and distinctions including Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in 2015 and E&Y Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016.

In 2017 Austin earned recognition as one of the nation's top 50 philanthropists and in 2024 set plans in motion to transform a decommissioned power plant on Manresa Island in Norwalk, CT into “an Island for all” including access points to the waterfront and vast ecological habitats.

Austin is a Co-Managing Partner at Outsiders Fund and CEO at Casana. Recently, Austin co-founded Slide to deliver truly modern BCDR and right the wrong of what happened to Datto.

Allison McChord, together with her husband Austin, is one half of the philanthropic team behind the Manresa Island Corporation. Inspired by a love of nature, the McChords purchased the former power plant site and are transforming it into a 125-acre public park.

Allison is a graduate of Syracuse University, and a practicing registered architect. She brings both professional insight and personal passion to creating a place dedicated to nature, education, and community.
