Robert Wolterstorff, Susan E. Lynch Executive Director, and Chief Executive Officer, Bruce Museum

Robert Wolterstorff is The Susan E. Lynch Executive Director & CEO of the Bruce Museum. Since arriving at the Bruce in 2019, he has overseen the New Bruce Capital Campaign and completed construction of the new building--an ambitious expansion, renovation, and transformation of the Museum.  Previously, Wolterstorff served as executive director at the Bennington Museum (VT), Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion (Philadelphia), and Victoria Mansion (Portland, ME).  Wolterstorff earned an MFA and a doctorate in art history from Princeton University, building upon his art history master’s from Williams College, and a bachelor's in biology from Calvin College.

A lifelong artist and museum lover, Greenwich resident Leslie Mueller is an award-winning fine artist with work represented in private and corporate collections worldwide. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at SMU in Dallas, TX. She is also an award-winning producer and art director. She is the executive producer and host of the popular Public Television series Museum Access. The series highlights America’s museums taking the viewer behind the scenes in each half-hour episode. Leslie speaks to the directors, curators, and creative personnel to get an insider’s view of the wonderful world of museums.

Dr. Daniel Ksepka

Dr. Daniel T. Ksepka earned his PhD through the Columbia University - American Museum of Natural History paleontology program in 2007. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers on research topics including the fossil record of penguins, the evolution of the avian brain, and flight in giant extinct birds.  At the Bruce Museum, he serves as Curator of Science and has recently overseen the installation of the permanent Natural Cycles Shape Our Land exhibition and Robert R. Wiener Mineral Gallery, as well as changing exhibitions on topics such as penguins, Madagascar, and natural history hoaxes.

Kimberly Klauss, Artist-in-Residence

Kimberly Klauss is a painter formerly based in Munich. She was born in the U.S. and spent time as a child in Japan, as well as most of her adult life in Germany. Her life experience as a foreigner has given rise to questions about the universal and singular experience of personhood, as well as the reliability of perception and portrayal.

Recently she has begun including print techniques in the paintings, a result of her time as an artist in residence at Villa Lena Foundation in Italy.

Kimberly’s work was introduced to a wider audience in 2017 when she was a finalist in Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year (UK). She has since shown works in the ING Discerning Eye exhibition, with Young Space, and at Compton Verney Gallery, and has paintings held in the Soho House and Ruth Borchard Next Generation Collections.

Join Kimberly Klauss, the Bruce Museum’s inaugural Artist-in-Residence, as she discusses her journey toward becoming a working artist. During this program, Klauss will explain the motivation behind her work, followed by a Q&A, and will conclude the workshop with a hands-on demonstration of her art-making practice.

Corinne Flax, Manager of School and Community Partnerships

Corinne Flax is a museum educator, arts enthusiast, and community educator. She studied Art History at Drew University, receiving her B.A. in 2003 and her M.A. from Bank Street in Museum Education in 2008. Corinne joined the Bruce Museum in 2015 as Manager of School and Community Partnership, where she develops curriculum and community partnerships while focusing on creating intersections between art and science

Explore the life and career of prolific and innovative pop artist, David Hockney. The exhibition contains works created by Hockney from the 1960s to the 1980s, pivotal years in his career. These pieces illustrate Hockney’s ability and fluidity in a myriad of mediums and his wit, humor, and tenderness as a friend and artist.

This docent-led tour will feature exhibitions in the new Richter Wing, including the Richter Gallery of works by European artists 1830-1950, paintings and prints by David Hockney, and prints by Andy Warhol.
