Family Day: Winter Wonderland

Embrace the cozy spirit of the season at the Bruce Museum’s Family Day: Winter Wonderland! Families are invited to spend a joyful day together exploring art, nature, and science through hands-on activities that celebrate the magic of winter.
Create shimmering icicle mobiles, help build a collaborative cardboard winter village, and discover how animals adapt to the cold through engaging STEAM activities. Throughout the day, community partners will join in with interactive experiences, performances, and creative fun for all ages.

10:15–11am | Auditorium
Winter Move & Groove in Partnership with Songs for Seeds
Start the day with a lively, music-filled movement session led by Songs for Seeds, encouraging families to connect through rhythm and motion.
10:15am–4pm | Art Gallery D
Cozy Winter Book Corner
Relax in our reading nook and enjoy a selection of winter-themed books celebrating creativity, imagination, and the season’s magic.
11am–1pm & 2–4pm | Cohen Education Wing
Drop-In Crafts
Explore hands-on artmaking and STEAM projects inspired by the beauty of winter.
- Icicle Mobiles — Classroom 1
Design and assemble sparking mobiles using spin art techniques and inspired by glistening winter icicles. - Snowy Ants — Classroom 2
Inspired by our exhibition, Ants: Tiny Creatures, Big Lives, families will help their ant friends in preparing for the winter by building tunnels and burrows to keep them warm during the colder months. - Cardboard Winter Village — Classroom 3
Collaborate and decorate an immersive winter village, creating a playful, snowy town that children can explore and enjoy.
