The Collection
The Bruce aspires to spark wonder and discovery for all visitors, promoting learning and providing opportunities for discourse about the ever-changing world around us. With a permanent collection spanning millennia and ranging from the fine and decorative arts to scientific specimens and objects of historic and ethnographic significance, the collection stands at the heart of who we are and what we do.
As stewards of a diverse collection, grown through gifts and bequests, as well as purchases and field collection, the Collections Management and Registration department maintains and preserves collection objects through respectful, ethical, and best practice standards, safeguarding the collection for future generations of museum visitors.
The Bruce is committed to compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). For further details, please see our NAGPRA Compliance Statement.
