Cushing, Maine
Dearest Ma & Carolyn-
Here is a chad [sic] bush which seems to be every where here in Cushing. The story goes that the Indians always fished for chad when this was in bloom – The country has still the look of winter and that fresh green of Spring is just beginning - we keep fires going in both fireplaces – Carolyn it all takes me back to the time you and I both come to Maine together.
Went over to Port Clyde yesterday had a look at the Tenants Harbor Memorial Day parade which Ralph Cline headed in his 1917 uniform – saw Walt Anderson and his mother had a cup of coffee with them – also took a look at Eight Bells which looked beautiful.
Have been down to the Olsons several times Christina seems well although rather pale – Al seems poor.
I think of you both so often during the day and miss you so – being up here seems like a dream and I really don’t feel I am here yet – the change is hard to make – I will give you a telephone call today.
The three dogs are beside me as I write.
All my love to you both
Andy
