Artist-In-Residence Open Studio

Saturday, July 20, 2024, 2–4:00 PM

Join us for a special Open Studio session with our Artist-in-Residence, Kimberly Klauss. This event offers a unique opportunity to observe Kimberly's artistic process up close and engage in meaningful conversations about her work.

Kimberly Klauss, the Bruce Museum's inaugural Artist-in-Residence, brings a rich international background to her art. Originally from the U.S., she spent her childhood in Japan and most of her adult life in Germany. Her experiences have deeply influenced her perspective on personhood and the nature of perception and portrayal.

Kimberly's work often features oil paintings created from life and photographs, utilizing a limited palette to explore the complexities of viewing and portraying. Recently, she has begun incorporating print techniques into her paintings, a development from her time at the Villa Lena Foundation in Italy.

This open studio session is part of the Bruce Museum's ongoing commitment to fostering creativity, supporting emerging talent, and engaging the community in the arts. Don't miss this chance to connect with Kimberly Klauss and gain insights into her creative journey.

Admission: Free with Museum admission, no registration required.
