Rebecca Knight bio pic

Rebekah Knight discovered her love for drawing animals as a child and began her career at an early age as a result of her success in various conservation stamp competitions, most notably the Federal Junior Duck Stamp contest. While continuing her involvement in similar art programs and other non-profit conservation organizations along with frequent travel to gather photo reference in wild places, her work has grown to encompass a wide range of wildlife. Rebekah has spent many hours in the field from the Arctic to Africa photographing and studying wildlife, which is a key part of knowing how to convey a wild animal’s character. While she has had a few mentors and attended several artist workshops, Rebekah is mostly self-taught and has settled on oil as her primary medium of choice (although she occasionally works in other media). As her style and technique continues to grow and evolve, she continues to set her sights on more goals surrounding wildlife, art and conservation. Rebekah currently resides in Deepwater, Missouri with her husband Olen. She works part-time for the US Postal Service as a substitute rural mail carrier. In addition to painting, she enjoys traveling, exploring wilderness, playing musical instruments and flying airplanes.
