Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Acts of Community Service for Animals – Fun Fur All

Monday, January 20, 2025, 12:00-4:00 pm

This year’s theme is all about being good neighbors to our animal friends.  Explore the museum with your friends and family to find all of the animals in the art and science galleries. Guests will be able to participate in hands-on activities that help our animal friends and learn about how wild animals spend their winter season.

Admission is free for those under 18 and is generously provided by John and Barbara Kavanagh. Admission is required for everyone 18 and up.

Tickets at the door.

Family Day Activities:

Bird Feeder:

Description: Have you ever wondered how birds find food in the winter? Winter can be a hard time for birds, large and small. This workshop lets you help out our feathery friends by building a feeder and hanging it in your yard, and all the materials are recycled!

Participants in this activity will make a bird feeder they can hang at home using upcycled materials. Age range suggested: 5-10

Hibernating Bear Craft:
Celebrate the winter season by learning about animals that hibernate in the winter. In this workshop you and your adults will be able to learn about winter animal adaptations and create a hibernating bear craft.
