Meet for Coffee at the Bruce: Behind the Scenes with Kira and Kess
Saturday, November 9, 2024, 9:00-10:30 am, Aux Délices at the Bruce Café
Join us for a special edition of Meet for Coffee at the Bruce featuring twin sisters Kira Sabin and Kess Fennel, who are making waves in the art world and inspiring conservation efforts through their shared passion for wildlife and creativity. As part of our ongoing series, which offers a space for engaging conversations in the heart of the Bruce Museum, this event will dive into the story of how Kira and Kess are enriching the Federal Duck Stamp Contest by entering together and bringing attention to this important conservation effort through their art and social media presence.
Kira and Kess grew up sharing a love for both animals and art, attending art school together and continuing to inspire each other’s creative journeys. Kira is a professional painter in the Twin Cities, while Kess channels her artistic talents as a tattoo artist in Washington State. Although miles apart, the sisters remain connected through their art, and Kira's viral TikTok video—garnering over 2.6 million views—has brought fresh awareness to the Federal Duck Stamp Contest, a competition that helps protect America’s wildlife and wetlands.
In this intimate gathering, Kira and Kess will take us behind the scenes of entering the Federal Duck Stamp Contest together, offering insights into their creative process, how they support one another as artists, and their shared hope to inspire the next generation of artists and conservationists. Whether you’re a fan of art, conservation, or simply curious about the dynamic world of social media and its impact on environmental causes, this is a conversation you won’t want to miss.
This Meet for Coffee at the Bruce event continues the series’ mission to blend culture and conversation, bringing people together over coffee to discuss the stories that inspire us all.
