Discover the captivating world of monoprinting in our exclusive workshop led by our talented Artist-in-Residence, Kimberly Klauss. Whether you're a seasoned printmaker or new to the medium, this hands-on experience promises to ignite your imagination and inspire new avenues of artistic expression.

Participants will delve into the versatile art of monotype printing and explore printmaking techniques that Kimberly uses within her own paintings. Utilizing ink, rollers, and a variety of plate surfaces, you'll have the opportunity to experiment with different mark-making techniques to craft your own original designs.

During the two-session program, Kimberly will share invaluable techniques, tips, and insights to help you unlock the full potential of monoprinting in your own artistic practice.

You will learn how to:

  • Create monotypes without the use of a press and with the aid of many everyday household items
  • Use trace monotyping as a stand-alone technique and as a way to add graphic mark-making to existing work
  • Use laser-printed images as a plate with paper lithography
  • Transfer original drawings, printed images, and photographic material

Attendees will have the opportunity to utilize these printmaking techniques on their own projects.

The course is beginner-friendly—no prior printmaking ability required.

Tickets - $200 for both sessions, 20% discount for Bruce Museum members. Museum admission and materials for the workshop are included.

Note: Space for this workshop is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance. All skill levels are welcome!
