Gisela Colón (b. 1966) is a contemporary Puerto Rican-American artist based in Los Angeles. An artistic descendent of the California Light and Space movement, Colón constructs abstract, light-activated sculptures that engage art and science, embedding kaleidoscopic colors in engineered materials. Guest curated by Dr. Danielle O’Steen, Gisela Colón: Radiant Earth brings together the artist’s freestanding monoliths and biomorphic wall reliefs inspired by her study of the cosmos and her ancestral earth.
